Why to Go

Nineteen wineries. One location. Specially paired cheeses. Live music. Food and fun.

Once a year, the members of the 46 East Wineries association come together under one roof and pop the cork on some of their best wines. It’s your chance to try the diverse wines produced in the area, along with a specially chosen cheese to complement one wine poured by each winery.

You can revisit your favorite wineries and discover new ones to visit again during the year. All in a fun and easy-going event, and without the need for driving between wineries.

You’ll feel the Spirit of Wine as you enter this year’s 18th annual Esprit du Vin event, hosted by the wineries along the Highway 46 East region of Paso Robles.

Held at the just-opened event facility at Riboli Family of San Antonio Wineries (which was named 2018 American Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast), you’ll be treated to tasting two wines from each winery and a paired cheese.

As you stroll through the event, you can also choose bites and desserts from local chefs and caterers, and explore the products from specially selected vendors. Live music by Burning Bad & Cool and a raffle with eight great packages round out the evening.

The Story Behind the Event

While the locations and focus for Esprit du Vin may change over the years, the heart of the event remains constant. According to Brandee Davis, 46 East Wineries board member and spokesperson, Esprit du Vin was envisioned and continues to:

More about Paso Robles:

Climate, soils, and growing season combine to make Paso Robles an exceptional area for wine production. Microclimates mean a variety of grapes thrive here, from cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to heat-loving Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Zinfandel (the heritage grape of the area). With individual wineries focusing on the range from Bordeaux and Rhone to Italian and Spanish, there is a wine and a winery for everyone.
