Piedra Creek Winery was conceived atop a small knoll in the heart of the MacGregor Vineyard overlooking the beautiful Edna Valley of San Luis Obispo, California. In 1984 Piedra Creek Winery became the smallest bonded winery in the Edna Valley, if not the state of California, originally producing only a couple hundred cases of estate sourced Chardonnay.
A few years later, we purchased several acres of land in Arroyo Grande, off the familiar Los Berros Road. It is here that we set our flag and planted vineyards of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, varietals recognized and celebrated by many Central Coast locals. Among our vineyards, is our home, where Jessica and I raise our daughter Rebecca (14) and our son Wyatt (10). As our vineyards spent the years maturing, we built up our family farm, adding gardens and beautiful patios. We have the pleasure of hosting weddings during the late Spring, Summer and Fall months and love the opportunity to welcome new guests to our family farm.
Family Owned and Estate Grown – We are 100% estate grown and the integration of farming and winemaking is the foundation for everything we do. We currently farm a total of 240 acres across three different vineyards in Paso Robles and Edna Valley and make all of our wine in our LEED Certified Winery at Heart Hill Vineyard. We are known for our estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as our flagship blend Fog Catcher; however, we grow a wide range of varietals.
Not that long ago, friends with deep roots in California’s Central Coast planted the seeds to start making wine. What you see now is the labor of love that took us and our families on a journey into winemaking. For us, Biddle Ranch has always been about the simple indulgence of drinking a great wine in a beautiful place with the people we love. It’s this feeling that we strive to create in our tasting room every single day.
